The label is best known for its back catalog, and has a massive back catalog of over 11,000 releases dating from the 1960’s through to the 1990’s. For the purposes of this review, I’ll be focusing on one of the label’s more obscure artists, one whose discography is a veritable tangled web: LOU GOSSETT. LOU GOSSETT: LOU GOSSETT The LOU GOSSETT project was born at the beginning of the 1970’s, when guitarist Lou Gossett and his brother Bo (aka “Bo Diddley”) began performing. Bo Diddley was a jazz-based hard rock guitarist, and while they were often cited as a “Duos” (see link), they were really brothers who shared a musical upbringing that helped them to go their own ways. Lou Gossett became a highly sought-after studio guitarist, performing on countless records, and eventually leading a “progressive” (i.e. flashy) band called “The Nightingales” that released a highly acclaimed album in 1975. Lou Gossett’s rise to fame would be short-lived, however, as he would disappear from the music scene for almost a decade. He moved to London, and began writing and performing on his own, eventually resurfacing in a small group called “The Richie Group”. The album “The Boy With No Time” was released in 1980, and was Lou’s last release as a “duo”. From 1980 to 1987, Lou Gossett recorded
